Store-page checklist
A pre-launch pass over the parts of a page that peers of comparable games tend to mismatch. None of it is world-altering; skipped items are the visible ones.
Assets
- Header capsule uploaded at 920x430; small capsule 462x174; main capsule 1232x706; vertical capsule 748x896. All four are required for most placements.
- At least 5 screenshots, 1920x1080, 16:9, gameplay only.
- Photos/Terms: a public movie or screenshot gallery that tells what the game actually plays like; movie thumbnails that don't spoil story beats.
Languages
- Supported languages list set in the store backend — and the in-game ones separately.
- Localize store text (about, description) into the languages the game itself carries, per Valve's guidance that store-page localization should follow product localization.
- Screenshots localized into key territories where text-heavy.
- Survey shares sized with the hardware-survey language row (see languages page).
Copy
- Metadata taken: short description under ~300 characters, one paragraph, pushes the hook: genre, hook, promise.
- Detailed description leads with the tags/genres you actually carry (Indie, Style, Mechanics)
- Every screenshot has alt text that names the hook element if it's unique
Data sanity before launch
- Price set in all currencies you intend to sell in.
- Coming Soon pages: tags, screenshot count and description are indexed early — launch the page before you announce heavily.
- Compare yourself with your peers — 10 same-tag games, their languages, screenshots, trailers and description lengths — instead of guessing. That's the USD 29 report; the single-game numbers are free above.
Suggested pass order: capsule sizes first (they gate placements), then screenshot quality, then copy, then languages — cheapest fixes before the slowest ones (translation takes weeks).
